Great Sound For Small Speakers
(5 out of 5) by Pam Scroggins on Jul 3, 2008I have installed these in the rear of an 07 Chevy Aveo with a little triming they work great. I recommend these to anybody wanting good quality speakers.
Replaced speakers in 1985 Toyota Supra
(5 out of 5) by Steve G. on May 12, 2007 (Tulsa)The older Supras used 5X7s in the rear pillars. Very tight fit and no current technology speakers with the larger surrounds would fit. (all are 5.5 X 7.5 or thereabouts). Rather than cut into the trim panels, I decided to cut bottoms off the old OEM speakers thereby creating an "istallation ring" and setting 4x6s in for an excellent final fit. Of course the 4x6s don't have the bass that 5x7s do but that's not much of a problem since the Supra has a 5th front center 5.25 which I also replaced. Cory, the tech specialist at Boston Acoustics was wonderful and responded quickly to questions I had about possibly adding bass blockers.
I chose the the plate BA S75s because of their quality and ability to trim the corners of the flat plates to fit the installation ring I had created. For my use they are terrific. They perform as expected and by turning them down a bit you get most of the bass from the front. At a later date I may install a small powered subwoofer but for now with all new speakers front and rear things sound very nice. Thanks to Discount Jungle for a great price and service and Boston Acoustics for a super product.
