MY ORIGINAL REVIEW

Product description says "Internal XM antenna".
Ask yourself why you would pay $200 for an XM receiver otherwise. You can get a car receiver AND a home receiver together for less.
Here's the problem: if you are walking about anywhere or jogging let's say, you will not be happy with the reception, even though not being tethered to a wired antenna is probably the reason you bought this device in the first place. The internal antenna is awful. And don't waste your money on that little device you'll see on the web that plugs into the hole on the side and "doubles" your reception for $19.99. Double nothing is still nothing. Direct line of sight to satellites is constantly interrupted and repeater stations sometimes help, sometimes don't. And if you get out of any populated area, you know that there are no repeater stations and your "stand alone" XM receiver is useless.

The unit works great when attached to a proper XM antenna in the house or in the car. So unless you want to walk around with your home antenna and 25 foot cable in your hand, forget it.

XM service is fine.

Buy a home unit or a car unit, save your money.

Pioneer Airware XM portable radio

(4 out of 5) by W. Romer on Aug 9, 2008 (Ithaca, NY USA)
Versatile unit, home/car/portable. Comes with necessary docking, power-supplies, accessories. Sturdy. FM modulator for car use could use wider selection of frequencies.

Perfect price and perfect item

(4 out of 5) by Kelly Eriks on Dec 6, 2007 (Chicago, IL)
I've had this for a year now. I'm quite satisfied. However, I STILL get confused when I change my channels. I always want to use the volume button on the face to change channels! Regardless, for the price, it's a great deal. Definitely check out the Altec Lansing XM3020 speakers to match this with. Great price they have now for $13.99. Anyhow, XM Airwave is a great little product. Happy with my selection for my first time with XM radio!

Good Product - bad ear phone connections

(3 out of 5) by C. Gaines on May 5, 2007
I've had two Pioneer xm2go receivers over the last 1.5 years. I returned the first one to the dealer that I bought it from because I had trouble getting a consistent sound from the receiver. I have the same problem with my second unit (must be a manufacturing device). The internal antenna is very strong. I'm thankful for that because I cannot pick any stations up using the docking station and the antenna. Good functionality in the product but it has some design and performance issues that are frustrating to deal with.

Nice XM Radio

(5 out of 5) by Johnathan Hottell on Nov 21, 2006 (New Mexico U.S.A.)
I am happy with this radio. The build in antenna is kindof weak but I can get reception in my house if I place the radio in a good spot. Overall a great radio and it comes with a ton of accesories and goodies. :P
