Surprisingly good for the price
This is the first thing I've purchased from the Jwin brand. I'm one of those folks who doesn't mind trying an off-brand once in a while. So, I was looking for a simple boom box for my girlfriend to have in the kitchen that did not rely on a remote control and that could play tapes, radio, standard CDs and mp3 CDs since we both collect old-time radio and other stuff in mp3 format. After being disappointed with the Coby unit i mentioned in a previous review, I decided to pick this one up. It's a small unit, so the sound is fine but won't shake the walls with any heavy bass. In fact, the bass boost switch seems to boost the midrange which is all the bottom end the thing has. That's fine because I expected such audio quality from a small and inexpensive unit like this. Tape and radio work fine without any problems. CD player has a transport that moves quickly from track to track. It's a bit noisy, but at least you can hear what the player is doing. It does well with standard CDs and will play most MP3 CDs. It does not play a few of mine for some reason, but it will play most of them. Not sure why it has trouble playing some of them, but I did not expect perfection for the money I paid. Overall, though, we're both happy with this cute little boom box and I'm happy it isn't as picky as the other one I bought recently. I'm not sure how consistent Jwin's quality control is, so hopefully, if you decide to pick up one of these, your unit will work as well as ours does.

Good Value for CD MP3 player!
I purchased this portable player to play MP3 CDs. It is exactly what I wanted. I do a lot of work re-finishing old houses. While I am doing this work, I like to listen to music, but hauling around 200 CDs to each job is just not practical. This player has allowed me to burn a CD with 15 to 20 albums on it (The most songs I have put on one CD so far is 167), put it in the player on Random, and listen all day.
On the Positive:
1) CD player plays MP3s.
2) FM Radio picks up distant stations very well.
3) The unit is very small, light weight, and easy to move from A to B.
4) The construction seems sound. I don't expect it to brake anytime soon.
On the Negative:
1) Sound is crystal clear, but lacks punch on the lower end. The Base Boost is really a mid range boost.
2) The CD players Random program does not keep tack of which songs it has played, so it is possible to have the same song play two times in a row.

Generic Econo box
For an econo box, this little thing can blast out the hits with the power of some of the larger units. I got it just for the CD player, I listen to relaxing music when I sleep so this is just perfect for me

BEWARE product and return policy
I bought this for my son to keep in his room. After playing a CD ONE TIME, the player would no longer play any CD. I got the player ready to return and then saw the return policy for the RECORDING STORE - I had three days from original delivery to return it. Unfortunately, I had missed the deadline - I was on summer vacation for four days when it was delivered, I took a day to pull it out of the package, two days to realize that the player was actually defective (not user error) and we were out of range of returning it according to the company. I strongly recommend that you look at a more established brand of player and buy from a company that has a less draconian return policy. I bought a Sony from Best Buy and am very pleased now.

I didn't buy one, I bought two!
It's different when you have to buy for twins. In this case, since I needed two of them, I wanted to be sure that the quality and durability was there. Reading all the previous reviews for lots of different products made me suspicious that the marketing forces were at play. So I went to look at them myself, and they seemed ok. The kids like the boxes, they are simple to operate, and have held up fairly well. They have only been used indoors, and not moved too much. But my two year olds have pushed every button, moved every part, many more times than any test machine! Still working fine.
