Superb bookshelf speaker

(5 out of 5) by C. Rogers on Oct 25, 2005 (Los Angeles, CA)
I listened to a TON of speakers before buying the Axiom Audio M22ti's. In fact, I wasn't totally confident in purchasing a pair of speakers without actually hearing them first, so what I did was listen to everything I could get my ears on locally, and purchased my favorite locally available speaker. (ended up being the Energy C-3), then also ordered a pair of the Axiom M22ti's. In my own home, through my own system I was able to A/B the two speakers. Without a doubt the Axiom's were better. Much clearer midrange, and more detailed highs. The Energy's had a bit more low end, but being as these are bookshelf speakers, and I had a good subwoofer (Hsu VTF-2) my low end was covered.

All in all, the Axiom M22ti is a fantastic bookshelf speaker. I can't recommend them any higher.

Great speakers from great company

(5 out of 5) by md55 on Oct 27, 2005 (Nevada City,CA)
I have owned these speakers for almost three years now along with the floorstanding M50ti's and VP150 center channel. These are very accurate speakers, detailed and clear with surprisingly good bass for bookshelf speakers. Construction is of high quality with other cabinet finishes available direct through Axiom online. Axiom is one of internet sales only companies that offer great value selling direct with superb customer service, 30 day money back guarantee. There are few real competitors in terms of sound quality/price.

Great speakers

I own a complete theater of Axioms: a pair M22ti fronts, a VP150 center, and QS4 surrounds. I was hesitant to purchase speakers without an audition, but I am very glad I gave them a try. They are crisp and detailed with a smooth frequency response down to almost 40hz. The cabinets are very solid and well constructed. Axiom offers a great value for the price.

Great speakers

4.5 stars

I like these very much - they sit in my living room (I got the beech color from the scratch and dent part of the axiom website).

I also have some Ascend cbm 170s - comparable in price for their black plastic finish. The Ascends are a little better in sound - but you will pay more to get a nice finish.

All told - nice speakers. Some people will say that the Energy C3s are better than these Axioms. Some people like the Axioms better than the Ascends. I think the Ascends are slightly better than the Axioms (I haven't heard the Energy speakers) but the Axiom reputation is a lot of speaker for the money.

A great buy.
