This mouse works with original Pentium and earlier systems, unlike more modern mice with serial adapters. When dealing with an old system that has a failed mouse, having one of these is very handy, especially if you can not convince the small business owner that their 10+ year old system should be replaced.

We thought we would have to get a new computer when the old mouse died and the local stores did't sell serial mice any more. This one has saved the day! It worked great, right out of the box and has survived our 3 yr old so far!
