Nice stereo!

(4 out of 5) by Kevin D. Simerman on Nov 13, 2006 (Fort Wayne, IN USA)
The USB plug is excelent. I hook up my lap top and have 2 weeks of non stop music. The sound is very good, just wish they would change there speaker terminals from the too close together screw type to any thing else!
The HDMI plug makes a world of diffrance with the amount of cords you need, just one!

Headache

(2 out of 5) by Astro Fan on Jan 8, 2008
I got this receiver as a Christmas gift Dec. 07. It is in the service shop after a week of service due to overwhelming smell coming from receiver when turned on. I described the smell to JVC customer service as "acrid, smokey, toxic, headache causing smell". The unit is operational, but just not possible to be in the same room with it when its on.

Do your homework!

(3 out of 5) by M. Klipper on Jul 25, 2006
Small size, but it gets very hot! Leave lots of room for ventilation. Looks like it has lots of connections for lots of equipment, but not really. No phono or CD inputs, and it combines VCR/DBS, and DVD/DVR inputs. Won't output sound to TV via HDMI cable even if you use HDMI input from DVD or DBS/Cable. Sound quality is good, but I'd check out the comparable Denon model (about $150 more) if you've got lots of equipment to connect.

Best receiver I've had

(5 out of 5) by Quentin Owsley on Mar 9, 2006 (Eureka,CA)
I have had a few receivers and have never really been completely happy with any. Either one was one input too short or the digital input was the wrong type. But this one is the best I have had. And the fact that it is so small is great. I'll never go back to a receiver that is the size of a house again.
