Works perfect with new Sony Camcorders! (mine is DCR-HC90)
When fully charged shows 160-170min (in LCD screen mode)
original FA50 battery shows 85 min. Battery is precise. You will know exactly how many minutes left. It will even give you additional 1-2 min. Before it I bought generic "CTA FA70 battery" - big disappointment...that company announced it as an Info Lithium compatible.....not really ...it showed time BUT even full it showed just 145 min (LCD mode) and it used to suddenly stop working at the time when it showed 35 min left. Also camcorder was keep showing message "Use Sony Info-lithium Battery"
Acctulaly, it sad to say but You "don't have a choice" to buy anything beside Sony's FA70.
But with Amazon credit card Welcome $30 discount $40 price seems very reasonable.
Do not save on most important parts.
Enjoy
Sony NP-FA70 InfoLithium A Series Rechargeable Battery
Bought several of these for my DCR-HC90 min-DV camcorder. They held up well during recent one week trip to Germany and provided total power for several hours worth of tape recording and memory stick operations. Recharged on 220V European standard from the camera with no problem. Reliably held charge. Operating temps ranged from 40-70 degrees Fahrenheit with no apparent affect. Very pleased with this purchase and how it supports my needs.
High capacity battery
I bought this battery for my DCR-HC90 camera and it outperforms the one that came with the camera.
Sony NP-FA70 InfoLithium A Series Rechargeable Battery Pack for DCR-HC90, DCR-DVD7 & DCR-PC1000 Camcorders
Very pleased on the timing and quality of this product.
This is the real thing
I own several off-brand batteries that I use in my Sony DCR-H90. They all are supposed to be long life batteries. However, the Sony really is a long life battery. When fully charged it shows 160-170min while the generic batteries show 135-140 minutes. On more than one occasion I have been using the generic battery and with as much as 30 minutes remaining it just stopped working. With the Sony you will know exactly how many minutes left and it will even give you additional 1-2 min. Sometimes the camcorder shows the message "Use Sony Info-lithium Battery" The generic battery is a big disappointment but the Sony is the real deal. Well worth the extra money.
