This is a very mixed bag of goods - the sound is superb and customizable with the 7 band equalizer, but typically the equalizer is available only from the unit and not the remote. But then there is no attenuaton key on the unit, only on the remote. The display is huge, but how does Sony make use of it? Fully one inch on the left side displays half a circle, which expands and contracts with the music and expands and contracts with the music and expands and contracts with the music...and does nothing else! Nowhere on the display is there any listing of which of the 7 equ is being used, the stereo indication is so small you have to squint to find it, and so on - all of these could have been usefully displayed on the left rather than the half circle which expands and contracts and expands and contracts...

But the sound is superb and when I first turned it on the first station I got was more then 100 miles away. Very sensitive.

I'm on my second player of this model. (The first I had to send in to sony to get a refurbished one because it stopped playing cds.) Now after about a year and a half of having my refurbished one, some of the buttons stopped working properly, and it wont read, or has trouble reading certain cds. (Ones that are normal audio non-cdr/rw cds.) If it wasn't for these problems I've had with this product I would give it an excellent review. The design looks great. I love the color changing feature. And its loaded with options and sounds great.

Impressive sound clarity, and the Sony CDX-F5710 allowed me to rip out half of my car stereo setup. This powerfull unit can easily handle the mids and highs straight out of the back while delivering the lows to an amp in the trunk. The built in crossover does a fantastic job, and the EQ has some impressive pre-defined settings that you can change to fit you, plus a custom setting you can completely tailor to your needs. The MP3CD capability of this unit has never failed to deliver great sound, and the Auxiliary input is handy for Mp3 players or for use with a GPS unit like the Garmin Nuvi 350.

We own two of these units and have not had a problem with them yet. I'll own these two till the day they finally die, then I'll mourn their loss as the newer ones on the market don't have the flexibility for the price that compares to this unit.

This is the best car player that I have ever owned. The sound quality is excellent, the system is easy to use, and it is very stylish looking!! I decided to purchase this car player after asking a rep in Best Buy which one he though I should purchase, I was advised that this was a new player and that it is a very reliable & sleek looking player. I honestly did not like the way it looked in the store but boy does it look great in the car! It is brighter than you would think and you have 7 different LCD screen colors to choose from. I usually keep my screen at dark blue or red but you can choose white, yellow, light blue, red, purple, orange, dark blue and more screen choices. This player is very easy to use and to program stations is simple also. The sound quality is excellent and it is also Sattelite and XM ready and can play MP3's and Cd's! You cannot beat the value of this system, I paid $159.99 which is a steal because it works so great and looks so stylish...The pictures on here do not do the player juctice, wait until you get it set up! You can choose to display the clock or hide the clock on the LCD, I have mine displayed and I love the nice bright large LCD screen. Again everything is simple to set, the clock took me seconds to set and everything was so easy. My friends thought I spent a whole lot of money for this player because it really looks more expensive than the picture shows but it really is an unbeatable price and + It's a Sony!

Great Product for the buck. Easy to install, clear directions, many features. This unit is powerful has beautiful sound and a lot of simple fuctions to tailor the sound to your specific liking.
