Very Very Nice.

(5 out of 5) by Christopher B. Estes on Jul 14, 2006
I was planning on spending a lot more money on ceiling speakers when i came across these. I figured i could not lose because the whole set was less thatn what one of the speakers that i wanted costed. I have to say i am very happy and very impressed. I have already ordered another set for a friend who did not believe what i had paid for these top quality speakers. I would suggest these to anyone looking for a nice top quality set of speakers.

I HAVE JUST STARTED WITH HOME THEATRE INSTALLS. I HAVE COMPAIRED OTHER SPEAKERS, AND I HAVE TO SAY EVEN WITH THE DIAL UP THE SOUND IS CLEAN AND VERY CLEAR. MY NEIGHBOR NEXT DOOR STATED HE ENJOYED THE MOVIE I WAS WATCHING AS MUCH AS I DID FROM HIS OWN LIVINGROOM. I FIND THESE A GREAT BARGIN. VERY IMPRESSED.

Great in-ceiling spakers

(4 out of 5) by Techno Geek on Jan 28, 2008
So here's a quick review on the speakers:

Pro's:
- Speakers mount almost flush with the ceiling so you really don't notice them very much
- They have aimable tweeters so you can point them towards where you normally sit (don't even consider any ceiling mounted speakers that don't have aimable tweeters)
- The white color on the face isn't a stark white so they blend in well with most white ceilings
- Speaker wire connectors are spring loaded so inserting the wires while crawling around in the ceiling is very easy
- The locking mechanism for holding the speakers in the ceiling works well, and means it doesn't require someone in the ceiling holding the speaker while you mount it.

Con's
- 8 inch speakers are actually much larger than you would think. I actually returned these and got the 6.5 inch size, which fit the size of my livingroom much better
- removing the grill for the installation is a bit of a pain until you figure out the trick. i.e. Gently flex the outer plastic edge of the speaker until the grill starts to pop out, then pull it the rest of the way off.

Conclusion: The sound from these speakers is excellent and they're a great way to get rid of the clutter of floor speakers. Remember though that most of your sound in a surround sound system comes from the center channel, so buy a good center channel to go along with these and you can't go wrong.

Home theater

(5 out of 5) by M. Rahman on Jul 13, 2007 (DC)
I have these speakers as my front speakers in a 5.1 surround home theater. They were easy to install and sound great. They are made of plastic though so you need to be careful installing them. I surrounded mine with insulation to reduce the bass and it truly sounds better than the cinema. You really cant go wrong with these speakers, they are inexpensive and produce good sound. I continuously am impressed with their sound.
