very good for the size
It doesn't get loud. It won't fill a big room with blasting sound. If that's what you want, get a boombox.
It's small and flat, easy to carry.
The sound quality is excellent, good definition, crisp high-end, flat sound curve. It's unbelievable that there is bass coming out from speakers of this size.
The sound volume is ideal for small rooms, intimate picnic, background muzak at a small gathering.
It has an extra input jack to plug a non-iPod source - very convenient.
For the price I payed, I cannot wish for more.

fine, if bought at a good price
The Altec Lansing inMotion iMmini does the job, if you're not too picky about sound quality and don't want to play it loud. I like that it is powered either by batteries or AC. Unfortunately, the unit turns itself off when not in use, even when plugged in, so don't expect to use it with your iPod as an alarm clock. That is a good feature otherwise, especially when on battery power. It did also work well with my brother-in-law's Zen MP3 player, although of course it doesn't charge non-iPods. Sound is fine at medium to low listening volumes but distorts significant as you approach max volume, if that's a surprise to anyone. Our JBL onStage has much better sound, but it also cost much more and doesn't run on batteries. All in all, I wouldn't pay full retail for it (or even half-retail), but for what I did pay ($20), I am happy with it.

Love my inMotion
It is great, but if you want to blast your iPod, it is too distorted. Otherwise it is great.

Perfect for travel
I have used my iMmini for 2 years now and it's perfect for travel and the sound quality is more than fine for my ears. Very compact and the fact that it also charges my ipod, means I don't have to pack the charger. Only problem I have is it doesn't like being dropped on a hard floor, go figure! Now, if the sound is turned up beyond half way, it cracks. So, I just ordered a new one at 1/3 the price I originally paid 2 years ago. Will give the broken one to my wife to use in her bedroom as she doesn't like the volume loud anyway. Besides, she's the one who broke it!

Worked great for a while
I loved this speaker system when I got it last year. But in the last few months it developed a loud humming noise that makes it so you can not hear your music. Very disapointed.
