Installation for this item was made very easy from the folks at Crutchfield. As for the stereo itself, out of the box when combined with aftermarket speakers, the sound quality is superb. I have been a Pioneer fan for as long as I can remember and have owned one other Blaupunkt deck. For my current restoration project I went with this deck. It was worth the risk. Combined with the Blaupunkt 6 1/2 component speakers and 3 1/2's the sound is amazing. You WILL need to read the manual though in order to get the full potential of the stereo. It has room for many upgrades and the wire for the infrared remote sensor is long enough to where you can mount the sensor anywhere you want. The only downfall I found with this radio is the trick to converting it to 5 channels. I haven't found it yet so I had to bridge the rear channels to my subwoofer. Overall with all of the options that this stereo comes with, there are very few out there that will offer the same for an equal price. And oh, yeah, if you use speakers that are rated at a max level below 100watts, the stereo amp is more than enough to get the sound you want at the volume you want. It is a very nice stereo.
