excellent product

(5 out of 5) by Evalyn C. Errico on Dec 10, 2005
I already own this product and have had mine for two years now. I bought it in a local drug store. When my children asked me to get them cd players for xmas I went to amazon and looked for this one I am very happy that they have it. The cd player does everything it supposed to it works better then the sony I had before it. you can't beat their price. I paid 39.99 plus tax at the drug store. Their price is much better and I had to buy two of them for both of my children. Many thanks to this vendor and amazon for helping me make my family's xmas wishes come true.

Unit died after < 12 uses

(2 out of 5) by Denise A. Brasher on Aug 11, 2008 (Mays Landing, NJ)
I bought this unit for my son for christmas. He loved it but really didn't understand how it worked. I thought the external speakers would be good for him since he didn't really understand CD players but he faired well with the headphones anyway. The anti-skip protection seemed to always have issues for us even though my son always sat down using this whether on the floor or in the car (often the car wasn't even moving yet). We managed to work with this and reserved using this CD player only for long trips and plane rides. So here we are in July preparing for a family trip when I thought the unit just needed new batteries. But after changing out the batteries the display still just kept flashing it's usual parentheses and no buttons on the top or sides rectified the situation. It was dead the CD spinning but no sound was coming out. This unit had been used maybe ten or twelve times total and never had my son even stood up or walked with it. So only had it been exposed to gentle use. It still looks brand new. So for me this is a very disappointing product and, in fact, I am avoiding JWIN products all together while shopping for another CD player because maybe it speaks to the durability of their other products. I had read the reviews on here before buying this player and felt it would be a good first time investment for my son - but I guess everyone has different experiences. The only thing people had mentioned was the quality of the headphones being poor. While they aren't good - that wasn't a concern for a preschooler. Now I had many other issues. I usually find that when things are ripped up online they aren't so bad - but this time it was written up as a much better product than what I actually felt I received. Maybe I got a lemon!

JWIN =JLOOSE

(1 out of 5) by Ava Lundy on Nov 6, 2008 (USA)
I saw this item on Amazon and thought it would be a great gift for my granddaughter. It arrived timely, and i announced it was here. We had purchased batteries, rechargeables, and of course she put the batteries in. I watched and made sure the batteries went in correctly. The darn thing worked very well...for about 30 minutes!! She was sitting in the chair listening to pat benatar...one of her favs...and she starts looking puzzled...so of course I ask what is wrong.."It just stopped playing, gramma!" I promptly removed the batteries, and put in new fully charged batteries. We turned the thing on...NOTHING...absolutely nothing. So i took one of my adapters..a 4.5 (that it calls for), and hooked it up. It played for about 10 minutes and has never played since! IT JUST DIED!! And this is not a 4 or so year old that would abuse it . This is a preteen who loves listening to music everywhere and treasures her gifts. Takes very good care of her things. This was not abused, it was within my sight every moment we had owned it. My SUGGESTION...DO WHAT i DID...Bought her an MP3 player and loaded it with her songs from my computer!! She is so much happier. Save your money, if you do decide to buy, i would love to know how long yours lasted....by the way..we did return it for another which did NEVER play...even out of the package..so we gave up!

Know what you are buying

I purchased this player to be able to take it with me on the bicycle. It works fine if it is perfectly still on a table. As soon as it is moved it begins to skip. Even moving it from table to table will cause it to skip. It surely won't work while riding the bike.
