Probably the best surround speakers in it's class

(5 out of 5) by Sahara on Jan 30, 2009
I got those recently and haven't had enough time yet to check them fully but the first impression is that these are really surround making speakers, that do put you in the middle of the action (tried them with movies only)

The only strange thing is that in bipole my Onkyo 876 detects them as 80 Hz (THX) speaker but in Dipole it sets them at 90 Hz. Maybe that's due to the fact that I didn't have time to hang on the wall so they are just sitting on a shelf.

However I still prefer the sound of bipole which gives more articulate and bassy sound than dipole which makes the sound very diffused, so you don't realize that there are speakers behind. Worth noting that they do match perfectly with the rest of the system Beta-50 front, SW-12 sub and C360 center.

I love those speakers and planning to get one more ES250 to act as Back Surround (both left and right with jumper removed). Maybe a pair of Beta 10 will give more flexibility for setup options, but it's your choice.

Great Surround Sound

This is my fourth ES250...I am using two ES250s in bipolar phase as side channels in a 7.1 home theater system and one ES250 enclosure for the back left and back right channels.

The jumpers on the two sets of binding posts can be removed to allow connection of both a left or right surround and a back surround signal -- you can have a full 7.1-channel speaker array using only two ES250s, but I have a long narrow room (one of the worst situations for a surrouind system), so the third rear speaker helps with sound imaging. The ES250s are an excellent match for my Beta C360 center channel speaker and Beta 50 main floorstanding speakers and SW-12 sub. The system provides a clean and clear sound with tight and articulate bass, and a convincing surround environment for movies. I originally bought the system to bring out the best in my music collection (classical, jazz, blues, you name it), and the ES250s make it worth the extra cost for quality DTS multichannel recordings.

My fourth ES250 is used as a single point source for listening to music when working in my garage.

Awesome Speakers

(5 out of 5) by James W. Ricci Jr. on May 10, 2008 (Eva, Alabama USA)
These Infinity BETA ES250's sound incredible as the rear surrounds of my 7.1 Surround System. They are matched up with the Infinity Beta 40's and Alpha 37C Center Channel Speaker for the fronts, sides are the Infinity Beta 40's, and the rears the Beta ES250 Surrounds. All are driven by the Onkyo TX-SR805 powerful 130 Watts x 7. Crank it up!!! You simply can't go wrong with these excellent CMMD speakers.

Check out this line...excellent, full sound, top notch Audiophile quality!

Full surround sound

(5 out of 5) by Lynn D. Walther on Jan 29, 2008 (Surprise Arizona)
These book shelf speakers are an incedible buy for the budget minded buyer. They create a circular pattern when set against the corner in a smaller sized room. I am highly impressed by the performance and sound of these moderatley priced speakers.
