Works Great

(5 out of 5) by Old Dave on Aug 23, 2007 (Out West)
I'm using this on a Mac G4 running OS 10.4-10 with various external devices connected (Firewire 400), including hard drives. There have been no problems whatever. It just works as it should.

Does the job, but not many items are firewire anymore

I use it for an external hard drive and a web cam, but some hard drives will insist on being hooked directly to the computer.

Great for Hard Drives/Video

(5 out of 5) by Brent Soura on Jan 22, 2009 (Alamo, CA)
I was looking all over for a FireWire splitter and this one does a great job. I am a video editor and need lots of FireWire ports. I have 3 external Hard Drives and my video camera running through this port and I can say it works perfectly. I use an Apple G5 and Final Cut, this product has helped me get the info I need onto my drives all while hooked into the same drive. As my monitor and G5 were running out of FireWire ports this literally saved the day for all my video needs.
If you use FireWire a lot, and only use FireWire drives and cameras then this is a must by. I just wish I would have known about it sooner.

underpowered

(3 out of 5) by Peter M. Jaques on May 30, 2008 (Oakland, CA United States)
While it basically functions as it should, the hub seems to be slightly underpowered. I have just three devices plugged into it (two self-powered hard drives, and a Digi Mbox2Pro bus-powered audio interface), and it doesn't always recognize both drives. Also, sometime when I eject & turn off one of the drives, the audio interface disappears as well. As long as I don't change anything (i.e. turn off any drives), it works well.

works well

I have been using two of these hubs on Macs for several months, with a pile of Firewire hard drives. They work well; I have had no problems.
