Works as it should

(5 out of 5) by D. Kruse on Apr 11, 2007 (Fairfax, VA)
I had a laptop die on me, and I was easily able to pull the hard drive and put it in this enclosure to get back all of my files. Ideally, it could be tool-less, but it comes with the screwdriver you need and extra screws. Nice finish and appearance. Best cost/performance ratio out there.

New life for an old notebook hard drive

(5 out of 5) by MSJC on Feb 18, 2007
I bought this enclosure so that I could use my old notebook's hard drive as an external usb storage device for my new notebook. It works great, and requires no additional power cable. I even did the worst and dropped my hard drive (when it was off), and I believe that this enclosure saved my hard drive. The hard drive works perfectly after running diagnostics. Five stars.

Excellent.

(4 out of 5) by Brice Holland on Feb 1, 2007 (Jonesboro, GA USA)
Recently having had a laptop just blow up on me- left me with several internal components within the laptop.

Of which, being an 80 gig harddrive that had all of the previously completed work on it- so I needed that work.

After ordering and having read the reviews about how "cheap" this product is- I was a little skeptic.

But when it came in and I hooked everything up- it ran beautifully for the price at which I bought it for.

I did have to put a single index card wrapped around it, just to prevent the minor irritation of "some rattling" but of which was hardly any.

Connecting to the computer was a breeze, and I love carrying around my 10+ gigs of music anywhere I want with my laptop. :)

Enjoyable, and cost effective.

Thanks Amazon!

Good Value

Works fine so far. Had it plugged in for an hour and had no heat issues. The only issue I had was that I needed to put a little spongy packing material in the case to prevent the drive from moving around inside.

Terrible Experience

(1 out of 5) by Jose Suarez on Feb 8, 2007 (Caracas, Venezuela)
The device did not worked at all. Tax + S&H doubled the price so I ended up paying 14USD for nothing. Tried to contat TigerDirect & Sabrent via e-mail, no reply received. No wonder the price is 7USD, DO NOT BUY IT!
