I had a 26in LCD monitor hooked to my laptop with a $20 cable I got from best buy, and picture quality was horrible. All the charaters had ghosts, letters looks fuzzy and was starting to think my new flatpanel monitor was crap. I bought this cable for just a little more money and the difference was amazing. Don't waste your money on a flimsy little cable, this one rocks.

I bought this cable to insure that I got the best display on a 32" Olevia LCD HDTV (that I also use as a monitor with my desktop computer). The display was already pretty good with a $10 cable that I had purchase before but I wanted the best possible display using the VGA input so I bought the Belkin cable. Using the Belkin AV21401 cable, text in the display was somewhat washed out and did not look as good as when the cheap cable was used. But when I used the Belkin on my other HDTV (Memorex 32")to connect my laptop, the display was exceptional. I have some theories as why this was the case but nothing definite. In any case, I do not believe the Belkin cable is the problem and consider the cable to be of excellent quality. My recommendation would be to try a cheaper cable first and only buy this expensive cable if the cheaper cable gave a poor display (especially with text).

If either your graphics card (or motherboard) or monitor only has a VGA connection, then you need this cable. High quality connector, easy to install and remove, fat but flexible cable - a few well-made item. Whether it makes a huge difference in video quality may be hard to tell, but with this cable you can at least be sure that your VGA cable will never interfere with the picture.
