I bought this item thinking that it was a battery that allowed you to charge it by simply plugging it into an outlet. Unfortunately it is not. This product is basically a way to use your camera for extended periods of time by using AC power instead of a battery. If you were going to spend over an hour with your camera hooked up to a computer, maybe this will work for you. I found that the using battery is sufficient though. The ACK-DC10 works well if you need to power your camera without using it's battery.

Great for downloading pictures to your computer without draining the battery. This is not a charger. Esay to install. A no brainer.

I already have a Powershot SD200 and had hoped the charger for it would work with my SD600, but although the electronics appears to be the same, the battery size is different so the SD600 requires a different little plastic adaptor. To get the adaptor, apparently one has to buy a whole new charger (?) This little adaptor is hard to keep track of--there should be some sort of special slot in the charger to stash it safely when not in use, but other than that I'm very glad that this camera has an A/C adaptor at all. I don't think there is much choice here--if you want to connect the SD600 to A/C power apparently this is the adaptor one needs and to use the video capability of the camera indoors, one does need the A/C.

The kit was delivered with the date specified. I used it on my SD600 and it work just fine.

Took the camera and accessories to the Philippines and they worked wonderfully. It was so nice having a small camera along with the digital slr. The power adapter is perfect for downloading pics although the battery worked well too. Love this little GEM.
