My home theater only had one aux in I need 3. I purchased the SW200 and it is doing a great job.

Solves a problem

Solves a problem with older A/V system with only one optical input. The only minor issue is with the quality of the remote

Does The Job

(4 out of 5) by Chris M. on Oct 22, 2009 (Los Angeles, CA)
I purchased this unit for the functionality of an optical audio switcher as many other reviewers here have. I'm feeding two PC outputs into a receiver but wanted a simple way of switching the audio without manually changing the digital input assignments on the front panel of the receiver. This unit serves that purpose extremely well, and I programmed my Harmony 890 universal remote to control it. I don't use the included remote. My only disappointment with the Nyrius SW200 came as an afterthought. I decided to also feed S-Video input and wanted to output composite to a rackmount confidence monitor I have. However, this unit will not convert S-Video to Composite. If your input is S-Video, you must also use the S-Video output. It's a minor disappointment to me as it was not my intended use, but it's why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. Of course, I could use a simple adapter, but it would be nice if this was an included feature of the switch. For the money, the SW200 is a great switch, and I highly recommend it.

Solid functionality - bad remote

(4 out of 5) by Dan Dilloway on Oct 22, 2009
This switcher works as promised - the remote, however is a bit sticky and is difficult to operate on a consistent basis. It is also not made clear that the buttons can be manually pushed to change from one function to the other. Overall, functionality is great and no apparent loss of sounds from any of the inputs. Overall a great product.

Does just what I need it to do

(5 out of 5) by Jordan J. Spaulding on Oct 22, 2009 (New Jersey)
Purchased this product because my home theater system only has one optical input. I first purchased one of those manual switches but after just a few months my audio started to drop. I found this item and decided to give it a shot and it has been working very well. It's easy to switch between components with the remote and the sound quality is great. I would recommend this to anyone, especially since most of the home theater systems now a days have limited digital audio ports.
