Great Product

(5 out of 5) by B. Hill on Aug 26, 2007 (Bakersfield, CA)
I was looking for a Home Theater Speaker System.I had decided to go with a separate receiver, so just needed to get some speakers. My room set up is not the best for surround sound, but I wanted the flexibility to have it in the future. I also needed to keep my costs down. I am not an audiophile by any means, but do appreciate good sound in music and movies. The Polk system turned out to be as great as the previous reviews indicated. They aren't top of the line, but for their price, they do a fantastic job. The subwoofer provides deep bass, more than what I would ever need. I was also very impressed with the satellite and center channel speakers. Pick one up and you will notice they are pretty heavy. Compared to the systems in Best Buy and Circuit City for more price, you can just tell these are made better. They sound great....you won't be disappointed.

Great speaker package for the money!

(4 out of 5) by Phins on Dec 9, 2007 (Rock Spring, GA)
Polk Audio RM6750 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System, Black Finish I have been using this speaker system for about a year with a Sony STR-DG810. I am very pleased with the performance of this package especially at the price point. My friends and family have all been impressed remarking that the system sounds like a movie theater. Bass from sub-woofer is deep and powerful and the center speaker reproduces dialoge beautifully. What is also nice, Polk sells seperate surround speakers so I can make a 6.1 system since my Sony receiver has that capability. Don't worry if you are thinking about RM6750, I have enjoyed mine from the start!

Good sound but fragile

(4 out of 5) by Paul on Aug 14, 2007 (Colorado)
These speakers sound very good but be sure to attach the rubber feet. I had a speaker temporarily located on top of the 50 watt woofer which fell off on my wood floor and the speaker completely separated from the external plastic case resulting in much rattling when this speaker is used. The plastic is as hard as glass but also fractures like glass.

Great entry-level speakers from a solid brand

(4 out of 5) by esb on Feb 18, 2007
Even these low-end Polk speakers blow away the competitors. I can't believe the volume these tiny speakers push through without any hint of distortion. Only complaint is the subwoofer is a little weak.

Overall, my rating depends on how much you paid for these speakers. 3-star if you paid the MSRP of $500, 4-star if you bought them at Amazon for $250, and 5-star if you bought them (like I did) at Fry's Outpost for only $199!

Polk sounds great

These speakers for the money are wonderful. Buy them if this is your first set or third time around. They are worth it. I hooked them up to a receiver Onk 507 and really why spend more if you don't have to. I all ways want to buy better or higher end gear but this time why? Get it and you will be happy. The sub for me is strong enough and the room I'm in a 17x17, even if your room was bigger I thing these polks will do the trick for you.
