Unacceptable

(1 out of 5) by A. DATTORE on Dec 8, 2005
True, this is an inexpensive unit, but it arrived with the CD inoperative; neither CD nor MP3 playing. All I got was "No Disk," no matter which CD or MP3 was inserted. The radio played, but even that was poor. It's a good looking unit and solid in appearance; but ultimately, it's unacceptable. This is the Christmas season, and vendors, shipping organizations, and the users, (myself), are much too busy. For 39.95 dollars, it's not worth returning, either for refund or certainly, not not replacement. I threw the unit out.

worth the money

(4 out of 5) by Florin Ciocani on Feb 16, 2006 (chicago)
This unit does everything it is suposed to do.Also plays wma and mp3.It plays cd-r that my other boombox Sony cfd-250cp does not.I gave it 4 stars because of analog radio and 2 wats /cannel and no remote.I owned for over a year and still plays all my cd-rs with no exception mp3 and wma.

Coby MP3/CD/Cassette/Radio

(4 out of 5) by B. Chandler on May 1, 2007
This "boom box" does everything it claims to do. Functions, I would give 5 stars.

The only thing(s) that makes me question its quality is the knobs (volume & the radio tuner), they feel as if they are not connected well. But, I have not had any problems.

For an inexpensive MP3/CD/Cassette/Radio tuner, I recommend it.

Not bad for CD/Cassette and MP3 combo

(3 out of 5) by MM on Jan 6, 2008 (USA)
Its hard to find a boombox which plays MP3 and also has cassette recorder. The unit, however, is not sturdy. We used it for 2 years and then volume control broke and could not be fixed. Now, we have to discard this unit and get a new unit. But then there are not many choices for boombox with both cassette and MP3 players.

COBY review

(1 out of 5) by Alxis Lessig on Jan 14, 2009 (Chehalis, WA)
This unit seems to have a problem playing a complete CD. It usually starts cutting out after approximately playing 75% of the CD. This occurred on 5 different CDs.
I tried to contact the manufacturer and have not been able to get reach anyone technically knowledgeable.
Also, it would be nice of them to have a toll free phone number for first time purchase problems.
