Top Notch Gear

(5 out of 5) by Mr Salty on Aug 25, 2009 (San Clemente, CA)
After trying several other "pocket" scopes over the years I've finally got the real deal, which goes to prove dad's old bit of wisdom; "Buy Cheap, Buy Twice" (or more!)
The Zeiss MiniQuick is a really exceptional blend of form and function.
World famous Zeiss optics in a package the size of a large fountain pen or marker.
So light you don't even notice it in your pocket.
As an every day carry optical aid you couldn't really ask for more.
This little wonder would make a very thoughtful gift for hunters, hikers, fisherman and other outdoor folk. Especially backpackers, kayakers and others who like to travel light.

Here's a tip:
Once you get the focus where you like it, hold your scope slightly recessed in your fist and steady your hand against your eye socket and cheek. Steady, Eddie.

Ultra-portable monocular

(5 out of 5) by Pankaj Gupta on Aug 30, 2008 (STILLWATER, MN United States)
I just bought this one from Cabela's for $129.99 + tax. Also bought another monocular (Brunton) and Nikon binocular from Amazon.com. It is great. One thing best about this - ultra-portability. So, it has its own unique uses. Other monoculars would not fit in top shirt pocket, and look like a secondary male organ in the pant pocket.

The magnification and light is good. I was able to read license plate of a car across the big pond in front of my house, just over 300 feet, and also make out people's facial expressions. There was the expected shake, so I just steadied it by pressing it against the window sill.
