Excellent
I'm into quality, and that's what you will get from these Technics headphones. I'm not a DJ, but I know these headphones work great for home listening. The volume can be turned up without any distortion at all. You may even want to record your mp3s at higher bitrates because you will be able to hear the difference between 128 and 256. The headphones are very well designed and comfortable. I find it hard to stop listening to them because I like them so much. The coiled cord stays out of the way. These headphones may be a little too bulky to wear walking down the street, but they are well worth their price. They also block out many ouside noises and other people in the room cannot hear the music you play at normal levels. This product will truly provide a new listening experience.
Captures Your Musical World
I saw a few DJs wearing these more and more as i toured clubs. I had to check these out after being a Sony fan for so long. These mainly caught my eye when I saw AvB wearing these at a gig, a guy who cares about the quality of sound.
With that being said I tested these out. I originally had the Sony v700 phones but was a little disappointed with the highs. The lows were great, maybe a little too much bass, but decent quality sound. When I finally got my hands on these I was stunned that they were far superior!! Everything about these is WOW! The more you turn these things up the better it gets. The highs are crisp as can be and the lows are as accurate as they should be. Side by side these shamed the Sony's! Other than the outstanding sound the build quality is just amazing. There is rubber around the cans to protect it from breaking, the cord comes off, which is replaceable, and the headband is ALL leather. Not fabric underneath like the Sony's. The chrome look on the side as well as the look of a Technic's turntable makes other phones look dull. These also come with a black leather carrying pouch that actually fits the headphones and some. The Sony's come with this weak pearl looking bag that's way too small for both the phones and the cord; my cord was getting tangled.
I guess the best way to describe these are True-To-Sound. When blending two tracks together you can get an honest preview of what the track will sound like when played to the crowd. No more bass being too high or too low.
So if you're looking for the ultimate headphones look no further. These things will be on your head forever.
Pros: Superior Sound, Sturdy, Style, Leather Caring Case, Detachable Cord.
Cons: ummmm still thinking.........
tired of sony 700's
If you are tired of the flimsy, plastic, sony headphones, well you have other choices. For dj's who use their headphones often, the Technic/Panasonic RP-DH1200 is the answer. The sound quality is very comparable to the sony vj 700's, and arguably better (particularly in its bass response). But what makes these headphones a great deal is that the cord is replaceable and so are the chushion pads on the headphones. I will warn you though that the headphones are slightly more heavy on the head than the sony ones, but for me it hasn't been that noticeable to me. Anyways, good luck in your search.
