good buy

I own this item for more than 1 years now. It works like a dream. I bought an used one. The disk capacity was big enough to store my files, softwares, photos and it was fast too. I back up the data from time to time but so far this disk never had any problem. Now, I run softwares and database server directly from this disk and it serves as a pocket laptop for me since I can plug it in any computer and start working immediately.

Other models of the smartdisk portable hard drive are bulkier and heavier than Firefly although they have more GBs. But I found the smaller size of this model makes a big difference since it fits in my pockets nicely and I think 20GB is sufficient for most people anyway.

I dropped it several times, the aluminum case seems to protect the disk very well.

Great USB storage

Wonderful little device. I now have two, one for digital photography, and another for big files that I don't need that often (i.e. e-books, installers and other big downloads). Much easier than trying to upgrade the hard drive in my notebook, and I'll be able to use them with my next computer as well. Also helpful for transferring files between computers.
