This unit died after 3 months, but after the PITIFUL 90-day warranty that Magnavox offers. After jumping through hoops on their Customer Service line, I was told that they never repair these units and that I can only exchange it for a new one. Their exchange price is more than I paid on Amazon!!!!
This device WILL FAIL on you, and you will NOT be able to get it repaired. The company insults you buy saying you have to buy a new one at a TERRIBLE, insulting price that's higher than retail. Don't make the same mistake that I made! Choose a better company!!!!

Excellent player!
I just bought this player from Wal-Mart, and thus far, have no complaints. My mother, right now, has pnemonia, and is in the hospital. She calls me and tells me she is very bored, and so I decided I would let her be the first to use the player. We hooked up the battery, and started charging it, and decided to give the player a test run while it was plugged in. We watched 2 movies on it. (keep in mind this was not drawing from the battery, but rather from the hospital's power) Sleepy Hollow, and Pirates of the Caribbean. And I have one word which does not do this player justice: BEAUTIFUL. The picture was amazing, my mom's friend, who was sitting at the other side of the room, said he had no problems seeing the screen. I thought the picture was very crisp. The built-in speakers are good for one or two people in a car, maybe, and I certainly could hear it fine as it was sitting in front of me, but to entertain a large group, you would want to hook the player up to larger speakers.
Some people say the case it comes with is small, and I could see how they may think that, but my sick mother, had no problem packing the DVD player in, along with all of it's equipment. (And she's 'technologically impaired'!) But, for the bottom line, I will list the pros and cons I have found on this DVD player.
Pros: Excellent picture quality
optical zoom-play
comes with car adapter, carrying case, and highly responsive RC
Dual headphone jacks
Long-lasting battery
Cons (of what I have found thus far):
The buttons are slightly difficult to press on the actual player itself
Built-in speakers were louder in Pirates than on Sleepy Hollow
And I found the battery just SLIGHTLY difficult to attach, but that might just be me. As you can see, I've only found minor problems, and I would highly reccomend this DVD player for road trips, or even if you're just stuck somewhere for a few hours/days!

Magnavox MPD720 - WORST PORTABLE DVD ON THE MARKET - BROKE AFTER 3rd VIEWING
This is one of the most expensive DVD players on the market and it broke after the 3rd time it was used. That is a whole lot of money to flush down the toilet!

broken after 4 months of use...
Do not buy this product. I bought this for my daughter for long car trips etc. and it broke after 3 months. She didn't even use it that much. This product is not worth the money!!!

Don't buy it!
I can't help but laugh at some of the reviews I've read. I guess most all agree with me that this is junk. We bought ours for our son in November of 04 and thought wew really had something. It worked well and we really liked it but then about six months later it wouldn't play dvd's. When you put one in it just grinds and won't stop enen if you open the cover, the only way to shut it off is to turn off the power. I can reflect the views of the company policies as well the were a joke. I can't believe that a supposedly good name brand of product doesn't protect its customer better than that. DO NOT BUY IT, ITS JUNK!
