I hooked this up to my old LaserJet 6L and now finally have all my computers off PCs and hanging on the network. Worked first try and it was extra nice not needing a printer cable. Almost as good as having an integrated NIC in the printer (still needs external power... no way around that I guess)
I don't know if things have changed with the firmware versions, but this one (v3.30) supported standard windows printer sharing, so none of the funky LPR setup is needed if you're a pure Windows user... just connect to it like you would a printer hanging off another PC. XP even found the printer on the network automatically... popped up a tray icon saying it found a new device on the network. Makes it real easy!

Great Product for sharing a printer on a simple home network
I love the form factor. It simply plugs into the parallel port on the printer - no printer cable. It is a snap to set up if you just follow exactly the instructions in the Quick Installation Guide. I had it working with four computers, three Windows XP and one Ubuntu Linux, in less than an hour.

It worked great, until I fried it
The power jack for this print server is exactly the same as the power jack for my HP printer - except that my printer takes 18 volts and the print server takes 5 volts. Just once, when I moved the printer, both power cords fell out. Unfortunately, I swapped them when I plugged them back in. It didn't take me long for me to recognize my mistake, but by then it was too late. The print server hasn't worked since.

Never did work.....
Spent 5 hours of my life that I'm never getting back time trying in vain to get this to work. The instructions were for Windows XP, I'm still running ME.... The internet gave no help. Supposed to be easy to set up via the web browser - but I could never connect to that setup page... Did ALL the stuff on the D-Link support page, none of it worked. No step by step instructions on how to set up for ME! Horrible, truly horrible product - vile support.
