This thing ROCKS . there is a review out there that says it is weak, that was written by someone who obviously didn't buy one.
The 6mb internal memory is only there because the device needs an operating system. It is really designed to be used with an SD card. The manufacturer has listed a max of 256mb. I have tested this device with a 1 GB sd card and I am getting 6 hours of recording on the S.fine setting and could get as much as 40 hours on economy settings but I haven't tried it because I haven't needed to. If you need more room, try connecting your USB drive or a Jump Drive via the included cable!
Playback is smooth and with a very high frame rate. You can record from external sources such as Cable TV, DVD players Ect. I recorded a feature movie from my DVD player and the quality was OUTSTANDING! You can set the record mode to jpg and capture still pics from live shows, DVDs or surveillance systems or record full frame rate video.
The screen is outstanding and High res TFT with backlight and contrast controls.
It also has multiple timer recording modes that when set will actually turn itself on, record the show, then turn itself off.
Move over Tivo to go this goes in your shirt pocket. No need for the laptop to take your shows with you. With the camera attachment removed, this thing is ultra slim and can be used as a personal DVR for things like a body warn hidden cam. I personally use the camera/tv tuner with a 434 mhz wireless camera that transmits on chan 59 and carry the recorder with me. This allows me to deploy my concealed camera and not only watch but record in the field.

The Camera attachment when used to record Mpg4 video has remarkably smooth frame rate playback and has a good microphone. When compared to other CF camcorders, the video here is much better but has no zoom or gain control.
The construction is impressive. Reinforced parts and well thought out design. The docking cradle has a built in speaker so you don't need headphones (needed off the cradle) and is designed to have input and output lines attached while on the cradle.
Although you cant watch the videos recorded on your computer, you can play them back on a TV and record them to VHS or mini DV then transfer them in.
The battery seems to last forever
This is a professional piece of equipment plane and simple. It is worth the $300 plus m.s.r.p. but you will get it for much less!

Like the other reviewer I have been amazed at what this device will do. It has a camera (that is only weak link), plays mp3, and records like a tiny vcr. You can have a couple hours of your favorite shows on this at any time. It shows me how a really great device might not become popular as you rarely see this advertised or run into anyone who has one. It is not a cheaply made device and I have been using for years.
