Excellent way to get ready for Howard

(5 out of 5) by Jon Graney on Dec 17, 2004
This unit is awesome. I wasn't interested in the dockable tuners, because I primarily listen to radio at home.

The DT-7000S is awesome. You can scroll through the stations, scroll through the categories, and punch in specific channel numbers on the keypad.

It's got a dimmable blue display that displays a lot of information, including the time.

I coupled this with a Terk SIR6 home antenna, which gets a strong signal -- perfect reception -- even though I mounted the antenna in the attic. I didn't even need to go outside!

I read the reviews of the "software glitch" on scrolling past 100 channels, but I have never encountered that. With the ability to punch in channel numbers directly, it's not even an issue.

I'm completely happy with this tuner, and it looks awesome sitting atop my component system.

Sirius' best receiver!! Great Sound and features a winner!!

(5 out of 5) by Jawny Yanksfan on May 24, 2005 (Syracuse, NY)
I have both XM and Sirius and in my opinion Sirius is the hands down winner. Anybody that has both should tell you the same. I have several Sirius receivers and this is the best receiver that Sirius offers. It has fantastic sound quality that far exceeds plug and play satellite radio receivers. Optical output is great for precision sound quality. A must have for a satellite radio subscriber!

Sweet Product!!

(5 out of 5) by Bob on Jul 21, 2004
I have been wanting to get Sirius at home but did not like the boombox option. This product is sweet, it plugs right into your stereo. I have received a lot of comments on the appearance of this piece. Cool and high-tech looking. Sound quality is much better than radio, sounds like a CD. The amount of channels on Sirius is incredible. You can program 80 channels, and the remote is very easy to use. Can't wait to listen to NFL games this fall.

Re-boot

(1 out of 5) by B. Embon on Mar 10, 2006 (San Diego, CA)
How often can a brand new tuner need to be repeatedly unplugged and rebooted? Pretty Often! Try buying ANY other peice of equipment, like a Starmate at a fraction of the cost of a DT-7000s, and enjoy better performance and use-ability. What junk from Kenwood.

Software bug consistently crashes unit

(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Aug 1, 2004
Scrolling past channel 100 locks up the unit; this is a known bug according to Kenwood level 2 tech support. Must send unit to Kenwood for repair, then wait 14 days to have it fixed. I'm on my second receiver with the same bug.
