not region free

This DVD player does not decode DTS
(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jun 7, 2004 (Leander, Texas United States)I purchased this DVD player because I wanted to be able to play divx movies. The ad stated this player did decode DTS. Well to my suprise it didn't I called Philips to verify this and they told me it was not designed to decode DTS sound tracks. Also the picture quality is terrible my old Pioneer DVD player has a much better picture output and it isn't even a progresive scan player!

Broken on Arrival
(1 out of 5) by Sun for All on Jan 30, 2007Bought from a third party, the player was poorly packed and broken when it arrived. It also smelled heavily of incense which makes smoke which cannot be good for electronics.

1 star for the horrible remote control
