A Overclockers Dream

Aug 28, 2004 - By Chad S. Butchino (New York)

This Card Is Amazing It Can Be Overclocked To almost the same power as the much more expensive 5900 I over clocked the GPU from the default 225mhz all the way up to 400 mhz stably and the memory from 400mhz to 500mhz In my benchmark tests using splinter cell and unreal 2004 i was able to recieve framerate very close to that of a 5900 over a 30% increase from the default settings. This card is great if you want something cheap to play the latest games but it has to be overclocked to do so

Solid graphics card

Mar 20, 2005 - By A.J. Wain (Seattle, WA United States)

I had to upgrade my video card after purchasing a new NEC-Mitsubishi Analog LCD Monitor. My old ATI 7000 Radeon card could not handle the new monitor and made my Windows system entirely useless (100% unstable).

The GeForce (actually I bought GeForce 5700 VE from Best Buy) has resolved the stability problem entirely. It has a very nice configuration software tool. I also tested out hooking up an additional CRT monitor to the video card, and the multi-display works excellently...it resolves the resolution and screen size differences on the fly just fine.

Other plusses to the card...The AGP 8X/4X interface meant it was compatible with my motherboard, which has an AGP4X interface. It is also nice that this card does not have to be connected to the computer's power supply.

Note, I am not a gamer, and so only looked for a card to support my computer use, which does not necessarily make heavy demands of the video subsystem, but which does want the flexibility to handle multiple displays. This can handle 2 analog VGA Displays simultaneously, but only 1 digital display. The price is also reasonable.
