Great phone for good price

Jul 4, 2004 - By Ali G. Chaudhary (Jeddah Saudi Arabia)

I've been using this phone for the past one month & my one word description is that its simply GREAT! Voice enhancer feature works well. Handset speakerphone is very effective and practical. Reception in my 2 level house is clear. Though some flickering in sound MAY occasionally occur if you have other 2.4GHz wireless devices in home, e.g., Wireless router. The shoulder rest attachment is nice to hold the phone while using the speakerphone but is not that effective as a shoulder rest itself. I have so far no complaints about the battery life though other panasonic cordless phone share a common complaint about the short battery life. There are suggestions that if you get into this then replace the battery with a non-panasonic brand, e.g., RadioShack. Enjoy the phone.

Does everything I wanted it for.

Jul 31, 2004 - By Jason P. Gold (Huntington Beach, CA)

I use this phone in my home office. For a while, I had a speakerphone on my desk, and I really liked being able to talk while working on the computer. But, the speakerphone left me tied to a small area. So, I also wanted a wireless handset on my desk as well. That meant either two phones on my desk, or purchasing one for substantially more money. Happily, I found this Panasonic.

I've owned several other inexpensive 2.4 GHz wireless phones, and I could never understand a word the person on the other side was saying. For the extra few dollars, I get an audible phone with lots of nice features including voice enhancer, belt clip, headset jack and a speakerphone built into the handset. In addition, at 2.4G, it allows more distance from the base than a 900MHz phone. I can walk around the entire house, and even out to the car if necessary, and still not totally lose reception. (OK! I live in Southern California where a lot over 1/8th acre is huge, so I don't get to travel too far from the base to get to the car!)

Every other phone I found with both a speaker-phone and a wireless handset was a good bit more money. The main trade-offs are that the base is a bit cheap looking, and has no features except a handset locator button. In addition, the volume on the speakerphone is a bit low. The other problem is that you can't simply hit the speakerphone button until you take the handset out of the base. Honestly, I have better things to spend my money on than expensive telephones -- such as books, music, tuition, high speed internet, antique stereo equipment and going out for a nice breakfast on Sunday. It is a good compromise.

What a great little phone!

Jun 13, 2005 - By drsuess001 (Australia)

I have had Panasonic cordless's as long as i can remember now. I have tried Uniden and V Tech and i have always ended up returning them or giving them away. My last phone was getting a bit shabby (and to be honest falling apart)and i started having problems with batteries dying all the time. Also i really wanted a speakerphone handset, as i spend half my time on the phone and due to problems with my neck i can no longer lean the phone on my shoulder for extended periods.
Anyway to put it simply. What a great little phone! It has everything i need. The only thing it doesnt have which im sure the next model up would, is an answer machine. But i dont need it because i have a fax/answer machine/phone. It has so many great little features like when you take it off the base the battery indicator stays on the screen constantly, so i don't have to keep pressing talk to check the battery level. Plus when you use another device on the line eg: fax etc it comes up with Line In Use on the screen. Great feature if you are on the net or fax a lot like i do. I am forever cutting myself off during faxes. The menu system is easy to use. It has plenty of ring tones, and i love the fact you can have a ringer that is a nice low pitch instead fo the older panasonics which scare the hell out of you when they ring at full volume. As some other reviewers have said the speakerphone is a little low on the volume side but it doesnt really bother me. It also has all the caller id gaff but i dont use that either. And the range is superb, no complaints here. Also the talk and off buttons are recessed so you dont hit them when you are carrying the phone on your belt or in your pocket. And finally you can scroll through the last 5 numbers when you hit redial. Now i think that is a great feature. Anyway thats my review, hope its been helpful.
And for what its worth, i know Panasonic's arent always great. I had one unit that i that i ended up throwing in the bin, but this really is a great phone and i think they are starting to get some quality control back there which is good to see.
Thanks for reading my review.
