Reliable, Quiet and good looking
(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jul 3, 2004There are very limited number of black drives out there and the TDK is one the best looking both internal and external. This model and the earlier 440n are both very quiet, reliable (burned over 500 dvd-r without any coasters yet using bulk media, ritek, princo, and even the cheaper U$.50 each. They are just that reliable. They are more expensive than competition but its quality both in looks and performance.
I Bought a TDK DVD burner and have regretted it ever since.
(1 out of 5) by disappointed consumer on Mar 17, 2005 (DC Metro)Every Time (without exception) I try to burn files to a DVD my computer locks up, I get a blue screen of death, I have to turn off the computer, restart it and go through the "your computer has recovered from a serious error" messages. Check other sorces for information but my recommendation is to seriously think twice before buying a TDK DVD burner.
