wireless LAN users please read this
I do not own this wireless phone
but I was checking the replacement of Vtech, which has a lot of static, and the voicemail records without any reason
when I check this model, I found this phone is running on both 2.4 and 5.8GHz (same as Vtech)
wireless owners, pls think twice before buying this unit

Close, but so far away
Here's the story: this phone has everything that I thought I wanted in a cordless phone.
-color screen.
-ergonomic cordless phone.
-speakerphone both on the base and the handset.
-answering machine.
-ability to add additional handsets.
-caller ID
-different ring tones.
-NiMH batteries.
Now, let me address why I am RETURNING this phone. I'll go step by step as above, and add a few more:
-the color screen serves no purpose. The handset offers nothing more than any other phone and thus does not require a color screen. The graphics are simply colorized versions of the monochrome version.
-the phone is ergonomic, but the buttons are harder than hell to press comfortably. I often dial and leave out a number, thereafter being forced to clear and redial. And for the record, I am over 6 feet and weight 180 pounds.
-the speakerphone is awful everywhere. People asked me if I was at the bottom of well. They could barely be heard.
-the caller ID is awful. You have to individually clear every number in order to remove the "3 New Calls Received" message. It drives you crazy. Moreover, you have to clear it at the base and the handset. They are linked. WORSE, it's not linked at all to the answering machine (more on the answering machine later).
-there are different ringtones but they all sound awful and grate on the nerves. Who are these beeps for? Whatever happened to a nice ring? Subtle, peaceful, etc. I feel like I am being electrocuted by cardiac arrest paddles every time the phone rings.
-the answering machine could have the worst interoperability of any phone I have ever used. First, the outgoing message sounds like you are speaking underwater in a cave. Second, the voice message announcer speaks too slowly. Third, the incoming messages are barely discernable. All in all, the Siemens phone system that I used to have had a far better answering system. This one is just plain, yes you guessed it, AWFUL!!
I will admit that the handsets call quality was fine, but no better than others that I have tried. All in all, I guess I was just hoping for a great cordless for once and am disappointed that ATT dropped the ball so much. Then again, remembering how bad their mobile service was, it really should come as no surprise. I am trading in for the Panasonic. Here we go with round 2.
Cheers.
