This is a very poor item. The CD stopped working. It 's hard to get a good FM signal most of the time. The stereo output is very strange to say the least. Look at a different player...you be much happier.

You need a master electricians degree to figure it out
When this thing works it is great, but it is so damn hard to program. Even when you are stone sober and have the instructions right in front of you it can be frustrating as all get out just to set the $#%#^% alarm to go off. When you do get it right you know it, but you need a bread crumb trail to remember how you did it. The English instructions are virtually useless. The features are good, and I can't say that any of the competing products are any better, but my wife and I are relatively intelligent people, and we have a heck of a time just trying to program the stupid thing to set off the alarms. There is no reasonable explanation for why this thing couldn't be a million times easier. It's a clock radio alarm for Pete's sake, not a rocket launcher. It does work though, when you press the right buttons in the right order [whatever it is], but you'll lose hair and patience in the process. That having been said, the light is awfully bright, even when it is on the lowest setting. This seems to be a complaint with all the competing products as well. I don't know why they design them this way, when they are obviously meant for a SLEEPING environment! How hard can it be to design a CD Clock Radio that is easy to program and that doesn't serve as a table lamp? Well made product, but very frustrating.
Terrible background static!
I bought this item thinking it would be a great office sound system, which I could use to listen to CD music and the radio in my limited space. It is the worst electronic product I have ever purchased.
When you listen to the radio there is constant background static which didn't go away when I tried to move around the atena or move the actual radio away from my desk (since I thought it might be computer interference). What is worse is that even when I played CDs you could hear the static sound in the background.
In addition to the static problem, the sound just isn't that great.
I was thoroughly disappointed!

Great Product
We are very thrilled with this purchase. A very nice compact unit for the headboard. Reception very clear, cd player has a nice tone and the various alarm setting is a really nice plus. I recommend this for anyone who is shopping for a new alarm clock !!!!!!!!!!!! Or even a nice desk set with options and a clear clock display.

Wierd problem of radio playing under CD
I don't need an alarm to wakeup, so that's not why I bought this item. I also don't use it to listen to the radio. I did buy it so I could listen to relaxation CD's as I fall asleep, an often difficult task. Unfortunately, the brightness of the display adds to the difficulty. I have to drape a dark fabric square over it, even on the dim setting, which I can easily lift to see the time when I wake in the middle of the night. The lack of a headphone jack is something else I missed when I purchased this. I am really disappointed about that feature. And, yes, I agree with others that settings are not intuitive. I have to keep the instructions right by my bedside and refer to them every season that the time changes, and even then, it takes a few tries to get it right.
But finally, I've had an intermittent problem with this thing, and almost brought it in for warranty repair, but then it stopped, just before I was going to. Then of course, when the problem resumed, the warranty period had passed. The problem is that for some bizarre reason, the radio bleeds through and plays faintly in the background while listening to a CD!
I bought this because of the design, and the small amount of nightstand space it occupies, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it.
