Complete set: Case + Lens Protector + Battery

(5 out of 5) by B. BARKANA on Apr 6, 2005 (TN)
I bought this kit for my DSC-F828 camera. The case itself worth $40 (also in eBay). If you are willing to buy a case, I suggest you to pay about $35 more and go with this Accessory Kit.

DSC-F828 has a long lasting battery, however, you will need an extra battery if you are a person like me who forgets to charge the battery occasionally. The extra battery is same original battery that comes with the camera. (As a note: Battery life is not good as an SLR camera like Nikon D70 where D70 has an incredible battery life).

I hate touching the lens for cleaning purposes or by accident. Lens protector is a non reflecting glass that fits the camera safely. It does not cause any difficulties (you can still use your lens close cap and lens hood when the lens protector attached).

Case is a custom padded case for F828 (or F717). Durability seems excellent (it has the Sony quality for sure). It is like a hard case. There is no way of damaging this case unless you are a war photographer. There are 3 pockets that you can put small items like extra battery (even a small cell phone like RAZR,V300 or a thin wallet). There is no place for AC adapter in this case (I won't prefer but you can put AC adapter on top of your camera and release the belt to fit it in but this can harm your camera and case).
I am glad that I bought this accessory kit.

Pro Power Sony AC-L10 Equivalent AC POWER ADAPTER DIG-L10

Smaller AC power supply from Accessory Genie [...]. About 1/2 the size of the Sony with the ac plug into the outlet and 6' power cord. International 100-240VAC input so the supply can be used in Europe, Africa, Asia... Easy to pack. [...]

First step after camera

This kit is the first "must have" after buying the DSC-F828. You need a case and extra battery anyway. Why not have the case custom fit to the camera? Compared to the leather case, this one has much more padding for protection. The pockets for space to carry the extra battery and memory sticks is essential. The kit also comes with a protective lens, all at a price less than buying the pieces separately.

Great Functional Bag...just wish the pockets were bigger.

I recently purchased this Sony bag for my DSC-F828 Cybershot and was quite pleased that this bag was not only secure in holding my camera, but easy to carry and tote around. One thing about the bag didn't bother me much; the side mesh pocked is quite useless in carrying anything more than the lens cover . The side zippered compartment is roomy enough for three CF cards and a spare battery (possibly more). The front zippered pocket is good enough for a few flat items. If you leave the camera strap on, it gets pretty bulky to pack the camera in the bag, but with the adjustable strap, it still closes securely. (Tip: if you can do without the camera strap, leave it off). Overall, I'm pleased with the function of this bag.
