Indispensable aid for digital compact cameras

(5 out of 5) by Ian Harris (Czech Republic) on Oct 5, 2008
I have an old Nikon Coolpix which has a tiny viewing screen. It is almost impossible to compose a picture accurately. After obtaining this amazing little viewer, I am able to accurately frame my photos, just as if with a viewfinder on a SLR - even in bright sunlight or in the dark! I cannot understand why it has not become more popular - nor why it is so hard to obtain? Everyone who has seen mine, would now like to purchase one!

Indespensible in daylight

(5 out of 5) by Richard S. Lee on Mar 26, 2006 (Charleston, WV USA)
Back around 2001, I was wondering how the heck I could see my digital camera's view screen when I was outdoors. I built a little viewing loupe with the sides closed so that no light hit the screen. It worked great. I was happy to see that a commmerically produced version is available. It works like my home-made one but it looks nicer and it has a handy strap so I'm not constantly looking for it. I'm a professional photographer so I shoot a lot and I need the thing handy. It works well indoors too... you can see the image better with this on pro cameras that have relatively hi-res view screens.
