Worked off and on for a year
And then of course, the month after the Warranty was over, it quit completely. I took it apart and found a lot of moisture, the batteries were corrided, and cannot get it to work. I cleaned it up, let it set in the house to dry per the instructions and changed batteries. Now the wiring seems to be messed up. I emailed the manufacturer to see if I could buy replacement parts, but they did not respond.

Reporter helps catch thieves!
On our 60 acres, thieves had broken into our new home under construction, stealing $19,000 worth of equipment, tools and supplies. After installing the Reporter, a problem arose, every time deer moved about, the alarm would sound and my husband would have to go check it. After many false alarms much to our surprise, one late night, instead of the 4-legged kind of deer, it turned out to be a couple of 2-legged "dears" back again to steal more. We held them at gunpoint until the police arrived and hauled them off to jail for trespassing, burglary and grand theft. We don't care about the times the deer make the alarm go off because we finally caught the thieves. The Reporter lets us know any movement on the driveway coming and going. We are grateful for this little device which has helped us stop the robberies. We're still checking every time the alarm sounds.

Works Well !
Nice little notification unit. Placed at end of long drive, and before anyone can get past that point, I am notified. Well worth the money.

Works well!
Device works well and relatively easy to set up. Lost a star only because the alarm sound is so crude - it's a simple (but loud) buzzer and there is no volume control!

It's workin 100% again - 2nd Update from "Dan on the farm"
THis is a second review and an update to my previous review written By "Dan on the Farm" in Oct 04.
About 48 hrs after I had the intial problems of it being intermitent, it started working again and has been about 99% effective since then. The only times that it misses a few alerts is on a REALLY foggy, damp, misty condition. Almost like it can't transmit through the pea soup. But other than that, it works great. It just had that 24 hr period in October when it became unreliable.
Today is 14 Jan, 05 and the temp here is -1 F. Works great even in these low temps. Had it about 6 months now and am very pleased. Again, our radio shack in central Illinois has it for around $75. Good luck and email if you have questions: 60745@myswa.com
