This is not a production quality product...

I got it from Amazon today and immmediately decided to return it. The firmware seems to be very buggy. I couldn't get it to recognize some of the CD's that I burnt with Roxio Toast on the Mac. Probably haveing problems with Joilet extension (long names). I also tried to play a slide show from a CompactFlash. Some of the pictures were displayed incorrectly. e.g. Lost of color channel information. Gaps in the pictures. Also I couldn't get XP to recognize the drive. I tried to find out whether there is a new version of the firmware. But addonics website has a broken link and I cannot download the "new" firmware. I have also tried the Apacer CP200 which is a similar product. While it has a few bugs I have none of the problems with Addonics. I am also returning the Apacer because I think these products are still immature. I'll stick with my laptop for the meantime.

It doesn't recognize my Memory stick cards. Both cards are working OK with my digital camera.

A short preliminay review - I just got his last night by UPS.
I did a bunch of research on this device and other similar devices - and this one seemed to work the best. It got a bunch of really great reviews so I decided to try it out. I need it mostly for travel - copying the pics off a compact flash card to a CD-R, then erasing the CF card and continuing to take more pics. The unit should be great for this. So far I have used it as an external USB 24x cd burner - and it worked really well. The device comes with everything you'd need in a nice case - remote, rechargeable power pack, cables, manual, dual voltage power supply. I'm really happy so far!
