Good surround sound speakers but no wall mount

(4 out of 5) by P. Tsui on Jun 14, 2005
I have a pair of E80 for my front speakers and need to have a pair of decent speakers to match the E80. I first considered the PolkAudio R15. outpost.com always have them on sale for $50 a pair plus shipping. They have very good review. However, I was very disappointed with their quality after I tried them in CircuitCity. The high is TERRIBLE!!! Last week, Amazon have the E20 on sale for $85 a pair with free shipping plus $25 future purchase gift certificate. I jumped all over the deal and bought 2 pairs for 4 surround sound speakers in my 7.1 system. I got them yesterday. I am very pleased with their sound quality which has excellent clarity in the mid-to-high frequencies. Brass is good but you would need a subwoofer in high volume. They are good for both movie and music. I feel they can also be good as front speakers if your room is not too big. The only problem I have with the speakers is I can't wall-mount the speakers. Also, they are 8" deep and they don't look good on wall anyway. If you are looking for wall-mount speaker, you may want to consider the E10 instead.

Awesome Speakers!!!!!!!!!!

(5 out of 5) by Charles B. Grimes on Apr 1, 2006 (Waynesboro, VA)
Needed small speakers for the living room and did not want surround sound. I have had surround sound speakers and just having these 2 it is better. I sit about 10 feet away from the TV watching the Matrix and I can feel the vibrations right up through the couch and I did not even have them that loud. Great, cheap, small, perfect speakers.

Very good speakers for the money

(5 out of 5) by dc adam on Dec 7, 2005
I purchased these speakers with the Beech finish from another website with free shipping for $95. For the money, they are about as good as it gets. I am gradually putting together a sound system. I am using them as my front speakers, and will add the JBL EC25 as my center channel soon. I will probably relegate the E20s to surround speaker use when I have the money. The sound is clear and rich. For the size. the bass is decent, but for heavy hip-hop type bass, a subwoofer or larger speakers would be ideal. They are rated at 60 W, and their output is very adequate for my relatively small room. I have used lower end Sony speakers and these blow them out of the water. Definitely recommended.

Great Speakers

(5 out of 5) by J. Thornton on Jun 19, 2006 (St. Pete. FL)
I play string bass and it is difficult to hear the bass on most recordings but the E-20 speakers really bring the bass tones out. I don't feel I need an additional woofer. Really enjoying the great sound. J&R shipped fast. Ordered on the weekend, received Thurs.

Great sound, good price

I have four of these as part of my 7.1 surround sound system. The sound quality out of them is very clear and crisp. I have had them for about 3 year now and I am very happy with them.
