These are very nice, attractive stands that mate well with the speakers in the Harman Kardon HKTS14 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System. I bought two sets of stands from Amazon and was disappointed in both cases to find that the bases, which consist of a heavy cast iron core piece with an aluminum shell, all arrived with small dents on the edge of the aluminum. Although the columns are well packed in bubble wrap, the bases are packed in tight fitting cardboard boxes without padding. Any bump in shipment can cause the dents. I called Harman Kardon Customer Service to suggest that their Asian supplier use some styrofoam padding. They referred me to their Parts Department, who sent me a new pair of stands gratis packed in the normal packaging. They are also dented. I appreciate the extra stands as I need them for the rear surround speakers just ordered. The dents won't be noticeable to the casual viewer so don't let this deter you from buying the stands. They really are nice.

These shouldn't even be a question whether to buy or not. If you get the Harman Kardon HKTS 14 or 8 speakers, get these stands. You won't regret it!!! Unless, of course you are hanging your speakers on the wall. I liked these because they not only lift to perfect height but look so impressive too. I bought two Harman Kardon stereo setups for my house, a AVR 240 and the CP 15 with the AVR 135. I bought four sets of stands because I don't want to mount speakers to wall and these do the trick perfectly. They are very well constructed and the base at floor is heavy enough that you won't worry about them getting knocked over too easily. The wires run up through the middle which is great and bases are slightly grooved up on rear to allow wires to pass through without making the stands sit uneven. They come with rubber feet so they won't scratch my wood floors and if you have carpet, they also come with little spikey type of nails to help them stay put. They are easy to put together that each pair only took 5 minutes to complete. Harman Kardon really does make a quality product both in the receivers and speakers and these speaker stands are no exception.

These are attractive stands and have worked well for my speakers. With my computer set-up, and office, the need for speaker stands was almost a necessity. Lifting the speakers and taking them a few feet from where I sit enables a higher quality of stereo sound. Plus the stand blend in well with my office decor. I highly recommend.

I'll start out with Sound Quality- They'll stand your speakers at the optimal height which will deliver the best sound. After I bought my first pair for the front speakers, I immediately noticed better sound than where I originally had them placed.

Aesthetics- Very, very nice looking. They're even better looking in person. They look very elegant and sleek in my living room. One thing I must add, all the pictures I've seen online are from the front view of the stand. When looking from the side of the stand, the speaker sticks out from the back of the stand. At first I thought it looked kind of odd but after a couple of days I think it actually looks better this way and understand why they designed it like that.

Quality- High quality is to say the least. Extremely nice finish. Of course it matches the hkts. Just like other HK products, HK has used quality material in these stands. The column is very light and the base is heavy enough to keep the speaker from being push over. And if the heavy base is not enough protection, included in the box are some carpet tacks that you screw to the bottom of the stand and they dig into your carpet, making it very difficult to push over. And if you got hardwood floors, they've also included those soft padding things you stick on the bottom of the stand to protect your floor.

And finally, Price- The price is really good. In my opinion, you actually get more than what you pay for. Look around and you will find that decent speaker stands are not cheap, definitely not in this price range. You can't find stands this nice for under 40 bucks a piece. So complete your HKTS with these stands. I guarantee you won't regret it.

The picture does not do these stands justice, they are smooth and cool, with the added functional bonus of lifting the speakers to ear-level so the sound is even better than before you had the stands.
Personally can't complain with the packing: all four of mine arrived without a scratch or a dent. They're a solid aluminum with a heavy metal base so they don't capsize in the occasional bump and run. I heartily recommend these if you have the HKTS-14s, proportionally the stands set off the speakers wonderfully.
