I had a phonex wireless modem jack for my Tivo, which worked and still works great. I got a phonex for my friend for his computer to connect to the internet. The distance from the transmitter jack to the receiver jack was probably further than in the case of my Tivo. Anyway, the Phonex did not work. I returned it, and decided to try the Belkin. First, I notice that the Belkin says it's good for 56K transmission rate, whereas the Phonex says only up to 16K. I don't know--but I can report that the Belkin wireless modem jack worked reliably whereas the phonex did not..

I returned the GE InstaJack and bought this item because the InstaJack did not work with the DirecTV Tivo. A quick call to the DirecTV support line revealed that only 3 wireless phone jack replicators are compatible. This Belkin product was one of them. After super-simple setup, my DirecTivo was able to dial out for updates. Thanks Belkin!

Works like it should. Many (or most) don't if you have a DSL phone line. Forget Radio Shack's, GE's and RCA's.

Took all of 3 minutes to set up. Has worked great with our Direct TV DVR. A good purchase.

I got this product for my phone/fax. It's works fine for my fax, but not for my phone line. There is so much static on the phone, it's useless. I ended up having to call the phone company to install a new jack. I gave it 3 stars for the fax.
