great for premies

(5 out of 5) by lara lee whitehead on Dec 30, 2004 (Nashville, TN)
We love it and are buying a second one for our second child. My first daughter was born at 33 weeks and was in the hospital for a while. She had epsiodes of apnea, which was of more concern to us when she got home without all of the equipment that a hospital has. With this monitor, we are able to sleep at night without worrying about whether or not she is still breathing. I recommend getting a feel for how it works and how sensitive it is before just laying the baby in the crib. I recommend it to all of my friends having babies and I don't see how a parent sleeps without one.

don't get swept up in the "sensor" - it's a crappy monitor

(3 out of 5) by Michael Drob on Apr 8, 2009 (Scotch Plains, NJ)
While the sensor is a great feature and certainly offers peace of mind (which is why we got it), the actual monitoring leaves much to be desired. The monitor is very prone to interference, has terrible range and constantly "hisses".. there is no sound-activated feature where it's muted while there is no or almost no noise. This is particularly annoying at night. The build quality is also pretty bad. One of our transmitters fell about 3 feet and broke immediately.

Great Monitor - Source of Wireless Network Interference

(4 out of 5) by Jason M. Fletcher on Dec 19, 2008 (Hickory Tavern, SC)
We received this monitor as a gift from a seasoned veteran. As new parents, this unit helped ease some of our fears. I did find recently that this unit was the source of interference with the wireless network in our home. It seems to operate in the same frequency as Wireless-G networks, as it did not affect our computer with a Wireless-N card.

Won't work if baby moves a lot

(1 out of 5) by F. Levi on Jul 16, 2008
Do not waste your money on this product if you have a baby that moves a lot in the crib!!!

We used it for a week until we just got tired of the 10 false alarms we had every night, because my daughter moves a lot in her crib, and often ends up against the rail (and never the same one). It was very stressful for us, and for her, so we just stopped using it.

Now, I would have given it 3 stars, because it does work for a lot of people, but I called their customer service and they said it's pretty much normal for it to beep a lot if you have a baby that moves a lot. I just wish they mentioned this in their product description, because now I'm out $70.

So this really deserves one star for me. If your baby doesn't move too much, it should work though.

Excellent product - good for peace of mind & sleep!

(5 out of 5) by R. Robinson on Apr 30, 2008
We got this after our premie son went of his apnea/heart monitor, mainly for peace of mind for me. It is very much worth the money! I would not trade the comfort of knowing he is safe and okay while he's sleeping for anything. This has really made it easy to sleep at night knowing that if something happens, we will know! Our son is now 8 months old and I still have it on every night and we don't get any false alarms (have to be sure the sensor is set correctly and to the right level) even when he's rolling around his crib.
