Lexmark= Junk

(1 out of 5) by Troy on Feb 28, 2005 (Florida, USA)
I have had several lexmarks over the years. This is one of the worst. The problems seem to be in the overpriced 10N0026 and 10N0016 print cartridges. They dry out prematurely. 3 months is all you can expect out of the carts whether you use them or not.
I contacted lexmark about it and all I get is a form response about how to clean them, which by the way might get you by for a day but the very next day you try to print alas they are dried out again. The eastern india customer support only reacts on certain keywords in the emails and use a form response. I asked three different questions concerning the cartridges and each time got the same identicle response, one from Abu, one from Hassan, and one from Solomon. As far as the software and functionality other than the cartridges I had no problems. But what good is it when you cant print. The Lexmark Z23 I previously owned used the same cartridges and had the same problems. The lexmark Z11 I wish I still had because other than the low print resolution had none of the aforementioned problems. Due to my experiences with this current Lexmark product I would not waste my money on anything else they have to offer.

Poor Performer

(1 out of 5) by garyjacobsen on Feb 24, 2004 (Lake Havasu City, Az United States)
I have owned the X75 for nearly 5 months and it has been nothing but constant problems. It would never perform as advertised. First, the cartridges were haywire. Then the software balked; then stopped altogether. Save your money and go to the local copier shop. In 5 months I got no more than 5 decent color photo copies and none from scanning/enlarging. Terrible.

Mhh I hope not all of the printers are this stuborn

(2 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Dec 8, 2003
I baught this printer when they just showed up and payed $120. It worked without problems for about one year.Then I started having problems with simple black on white printing. The cartrige was defected. I called customer service, which by the way were wery helpfull and nice and sent me another cartridge for free. Well this one was fine but the problem isn't in the cartrige. The printer started spacing out some lines on the document or cut the entire end of the document. (I have wind. XP). The scanner is very good if you want to keep the copies on your computer, but if you want to print it ...bad quality.
Sofweare that comes with the printer isn't the greatest too. The ink level sensor shows nonsense. Also if you want to stop your document before printer placed the sheet of paper under the printing head it is basically imposible without grabing it with your hand...the softweare is not responsive enough.
Black and white copy (brightness resolution) option is worthless. That is if you want make your copy darker or lighter you don't have many options. Well obviously now this printer is half the price and if you think it is worth the risk buying it do it...Also the ink doesn't soak into the paper fast enough making labels and placing them on, brushing with your hand over the letters makes them blurrrrry. Personally I thought I'd give a new make a chance but...I'm done with Lexmark products. I've owned a CANON and HP ...translating in english it means quality.

Printing problems Lexmark x75

(1 out of 5) by ted sears on Mar 8, 2005 (Switzerland)
This is the worst piece of garbage that I have ever owned. The cartridges are overpriced. It seems that many users are experiencing the same problem that I have. After 9 months of usage this printer seems to have gone wacko. I recently installed both a new colour and also a black cartridge. The colour prints just fine. However the black just does not print anymore. In searching the web for info I realise that many other users have had the same problem. Lexmark has not resolved the problem. I will open the window and toss this printer out . Never again will I purchase anything that carries the name LEXMARK. Ted Sears. Switzerland.

So Far So Good..

I got this as a present for X-mas and haven't had any problems with it. Its a bit on the slow side, the print quality is about average, but all else is what I would expect from a low end printer.
