Excellent Stuff for the Price.

(5 out of 5) by A. K. on Nov 19, 2003 (Vienna, VA USA)
I have been using this system for couple of days, even though the frequency responce is not as good as my last creative speakers I am satisfied with its performance. For some reason i was not able to find even a single set of speakers with frequency responce starting from 20Hz at an affordable price. All seem to have minimum responce of around 40Hz and if you are buying one with that responce I think Pulse 475 has an edge. The system is compact making it ideal for Laptop users like me. Still I have not been able to check its full output as the whole floor vibrates at half and I don't want to have an argument with the guy downstairs.

VERY SATISFIED

(5 out of 5) by Brian Goodman on Oct 18, 2004
I got these speakers to replace the built-in speakers on my Compaq laptop in my dorm. I don't think they'll ever be able to make quality laptop speakers but anyways...These speakers are perfect! I've had them about 3 weeks and they work tremendously, especially with the subwoofer. The sound is very complete and the set is ridiculously easy to setup. No drawbacks worth complaining about in the review. A very good value. Labtec is the off-brand/generic for Logitech so don't be fooled by the fact that you may have never seen the brand name before.

You get what you pay for

Ok, I wasn't expecting much for $33 dollars and I wasn't surprised. (I didn't get much.) I'd be hard pressed to give these speakers 5 stars like the other reviewers before me.

The satellite speakers sound very tinny at low volume levels. As you crank up the volume, the overall sound improves. Crank up the volume, move back away from the speakers (about 10 feet), and I'd rate them 4 stars (for the price). But...isn't the reason most people buy PC speakers for working at the PC (close distances) and for background music (lower volumes)? Be prepared to spend some time tinkering with the equalizer settings to get a decent sound at low volume. For that reason, I'd give them only 3 stars.

Great 2.1 speaker set-up enough to rock out on with a good sound card

Great 2.1 Labtec Pulse 475 Speaker System, would recommend to all even if your sound card is not up to par.

great speakers for a great price

Now, I have read some reviews for this "item" and i have to agree! i have nothing but good things to say about these speakers.... well ok i have one bad thing to say and thats it... the controls are on the side panel of the subwoofer which i was disappointed in... but in the new pulse 485 which is a few dollars more expensive you can get the wired control which solves all the problems!! but other than that its a good sound system for the price range... i was surprised to find such a cheap speaker set with this quality when i began looking for new speakers for my computer...
sincerely,
tony
