Fantastic Quality/High Price

(5 out of 5) by V. Ouellette on Jan 4, 2006 (Maine)
-This ink is a great quality and produces high quality images for any of your purposes. However, the downfall to these high quality images is higher ink consumption.
-It all depends on what you use the ink for if it is worth you buying this or a generic brand product. Because the Epson brand is made specifically for Epson printers their product is more versatile for many printing surfaces in comparison with other types of generic inks. The DuraBright ink is also helpful at keeping the brightness of a photo longer, meaning that it will reduce the effect of light interferance on the photo (ie fading, discoloring, etc), all things that don't take 80 years to see.
-I have tried many different brands of ink - including general and name brand inks - and it is obvious that the general inks don't suit my purposes because of the different surfaces that I need to print on such as overheads, printer papers, glossy papers, labels, etc. But if this is not an issue for you why spend the extra money?

*** The bottom line: You get what you pay for.***

Happy with Red

Works great in my Epson Stylus CX6600. Red as red should be.

Inefficiency

(1 out of 5) by S. Wnukowski on Jun 26, 2006 (New Jersey)
I ordered several ink cartridges at one time and was appalled when I received a slew of large boxes to deliver my order. The increased cost of shipping the cartridges separately made one magenta cartridge go from $9.35 to $14.93. All the cartrides arrived within a day of each other. I would rather pay for one shipment rather than separate ones.

Great capacity and high quality ink

(5 out of 5) by Chris Hewitt on Dec 4, 2003 (Brentwood, CA United States)
This cartridge has a pretty high capacity. I've used it with my CX6400 printer/scanner/copier for the past 3 weeks and it's held through and I still have about 3/4 of the ink left and I've printed a lot of things. Recommended from this site verses a place like Best Buy, who charge $12.99, whereas Amazon charges only $10.79.

Overpriced & Underperforming Catridges

(1 out of 5) by Music Lover In AZ on May 21, 2005 (Tucson, AZ USA)
I've owned a new Epson C86 for 3 months now and have spent at least twice what the printer cost me. The magenta ink in particular goes very quick, at least twice the speed of the other two colors. Epson claims that the "DuraBrite" cartridges will last for 450+ pages. However, they will last that long only at 5% coverage per Epson! So if you print a lot of photos or like me, a lot of DVD case inserts, you're going to be spending a lot on ink. I mean a lot! After a few tries experimenting with generics, I have finally found a generic/compatible manufaturer that works! Contrary to public opinion, you will not void your warranty by using another company's ink products. Epson does make that very clear in their product manual. If you feel you must use Epson ink or none at all, then nothing I can say in this review will convince you otherwise or to try generics. I will say that since I found a generic manufacturer that works wonderfully well with my C86 printer, I'm paying just $10.99 for ALL FOUR cartridges which saves me almost $45.00 versus the Epson brand. Honestly, why do I need an overpriced "DuraBrite" ink that will last for 88 years when I won't be here to prove or disprove that claim!
