WARNING -- DO NOT BUY THIS!!!

(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Nov 29, 2003 (Atlanta, GA United States)
The idea was great and still is great.
but not this product. it's horrible.
What was SIIG thinking?

Signal strength is very weak and there's constant background noise. The sound quality is absolutely horrible and not acceptable to most people. It comes with an audio cable to connect from the wireless card to an audio device. it fits very loosely and it makes sound quality even worse. also the whole unit is extremely sensitive to touches and bumps. every time i hit a bump, i end up loosing signal and have to readjust connections.

if you're trying to get this to play music, this is not the one.

I don't even know how SIIG got this to work up to 10 Meters.
the farthest distance mine worked was 1 meter.

if you still cannot resist and absolutely have to try this product, buy it from a local store with a generous return policy.

good thing i bought this from a local store. i'm taking back tomorrow.

Great Product

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Dec 30, 2003
I was a little nervous after reading some of the previous reviews about the poor sound quality but a business associate had this exact device on a trip in Florida and it worked great. So, I took a chance and bought this device for my wife for Christmas anyway. She uses it with her Palm to play MP3s on the car radio. So far the sound quality is excellent and she loves it! I almost bought a similar battery powered Belkin device but since it was going to be used in the car, I liked the idea of pluging it in instead of worrying about batteries.

We took the device out of the package, plugged it in, tuned the radio to the default station of 88.9, and it just worked. This product is great and has exceeded my expectations!

Very good item

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Dec 13, 2003
I've used a number of these wireless links and the siig is very good. I purchased 2 of these and they both function the same with stereo signal and range beyond 10 meters. It is very compact. The key item is the that the frequency stays locked without drift. On my radio 10meters away, the signal is strong +/-.5 MHz around the tuned frequency. It is most suited for use with a computer/USB but I wired up one of these for the car using the 4.5v power source for my player.

I'm very pleased with this thing. I've had none of the previously mentioned problems.
