Chaney Instruments Thor alarm Clock with Set & Forget Technology

(5 out of 5) by Mary K on Feb 11, 2009 (OK)
I love this clock with it's so easily read numerals. It can be seen so clearly in the dark, and from quite a distance. I bought it to replace another like it (different brand) which quit working after many years. I knew when that one stopped I had to have another as quickly as it could be delivered. If you have trouble seeing, and even if you don't, this is the clock for you if you want to see the time from a distance. Thank you Amazon for getting it here so quickly even with the free shipping.

Love It

Large display clock. Unobtrusive, no noise, simple, reliable. What's not to like?
I thought I might not like the flashing colon sign...but it is no problem at all.
Very happy with this purchase.

GREAT DEAL

Like this clock very much. With a quick glance not, only can you see the time, but if the alarm is set. Now, just waiting for a power outage, as this was the main reason for the purchase.

Great .... But....

Just as another reviewer had stated - it runs three minutes fast, and resetting does nothing to correct that problem. We, just like they, mentally subtract the three minutes from the display.

Since getting the clock, w've had our household power go out several times during storms, and when the power returned - WOW it kept its own time during the outage - Really Great!

What's more - it can be seen easily from anywhere in the darkened bedroom - AND even more - the display is not too bright in the dead of the night.

Another annoyance, though, is the flashing colon between the hours and minutes display. We've put black masking tape over them, which does a good job of hiding them when looking straight onto the display - however they're still visible from an angle. Wish we could turn it off.

Wonderful!!!!
