Works Great with my MacBook Pro
I installed an 80GB Hitachi (formerly IBM) drive and hook it up to my MacBook Pro - works great! Performance over firewire is very good, and it's powered over the firewire connection, so you don't need an external power supply or the USB power cable that's included. No drivers needed, all the hardware and cables you could want with it are in the package. The fact that it has two firewire ports is very handy, allowing you to daisy chain more firewire devices without needing a hub. And the inclusion of a power switch is a nice touch as well. Very well designed and sturdy product.

Almost perfect
Pros: Good, solid aluminum case. Excellent heat dissipation. On/Off switch is very handy. Above average craftsmanship. Cables included are of a good quality. Bus powered 1394.
Cons: Sides are made with a plastic. I would prefer metal for sure. Will were out quickly if you try to switch hard drives often. USB2.0
is not bus powered.
Summary: the best 2.5 FireWire enclosure in my collection.

Worked fine on Mac Mini
Used it to upgrade the hard disk inside a Mac Mini PPC. Worked just as expected, it was bootable on Firewire. Most PPC's can't boot off USB, so this was a perfect solution. Speed seems almost as fast as if the disk were internal. Standard Disk Utility tools in OS X worked fine to format and transfer data.
The blue/red/purple activity light was indeed way too bright, maybe they could work on that. Built quality was excellent, everything fit nicely. CD with drivers and manual wasn't needed.
The case is so small that only 9.5mm high drives will fit. Most are that size, but some very high capacity ones are taller and won't fit. Anyone needing a nice small enclosure for a standard 2.5" PATA drive ought to be happy with this.

All Aluminum. Quiet and Cool !!!
I'm very happy with it. I us it as a "Full-Time Running" main FW hard drive... with a backup Time Machine drive attached to it. All on a Mac Intel Mini.
All Aluminum. Quiet and Cool !!!
Fan-less.
(put dark tape over the bright blue activity light).
