No extra batteries available for this product
(1 out of 5) by Dimplz on Apr 14, 2004I recently bought this DVD player for an upcoming 5 hour plane ride and it appears to be a good, solid product. The battery in this, as in most portable DVD players now, lasts only about 2.5 hours. I was very prepared to purchase a second battery for my trip, however I was unable to find one.
The universal batteries out for DVD players now don't list Magnavox players as a compatable brand so I called Magnavox's customer number to see if they sold the batteries separately. I was told they didn't have batteries for this product for sale and also that they didn't have a date when they would start selling them. So unfortunately, this player will need to be returned to the store.
If you are looking to use this mainly for long distance (battery only) travel, then this might not be the best product to purchase.

Battery life is to short
(2 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on May 9, 2004 (Davis, CA. USA)This is a great DVD player when you have it hooked up to a power outlet. But I have yet to get through a whole movie on just the battery. The longest time I've gotten yet is 1h 20m.
