Soild German construction, OK microphone

(4 out of 5) by Thomas D. Kehoe on Apr 16, 2005 (Boulder, CO USA)
My company sold over 500 PC130 headsets last year. I've tried every headset on the market. The PC130 is solidly built, we've had zero returns from customers for broken headsets. The microphones fail eventually, but all microphones eventually fail and these last longer than most. The headphones eventually rattle a little but last much longer than Koss headsets. The headphone sound quality is very good, not as good as more expensive headsets but very good for the price. The microphone sound quality is adequate. Compared to a 10mm microphone, this 6mm microphone doesn't noise-cancel well, and it has no low-end (bass). But no one makes headsets with 10mm microphones any more, consumers seem to care only about headphone sound quality, not microphone sound quality. Another plus with this headset is that the microphone can be wiped clean with alcohol wipes, if several people are using the headset.

good sound + comfort

(4 out of 5) by lis on Mar 10, 2004 (Pittsburgh, PA United States)
The first set of these headphones i got from amazon did not work, but i sent them back and the replacement was here in no time. The headphones have very good sound for this particular style. And the on cord volume control is very handy. The cord is very long and because it attaches to only one side of the headphones it does not get caught up easily which is great for using them with a computer. The think i like most though, is that the headphones are very comfortable. They are very light and do not get in the way of my glasses.
They also reduce noise but do not cut you off from the rest of the world - important in many office settings. Finally even if i have them up quite loud my officemates still cannot hear them.

All in all a really nice set of headphones

Great headset for internet phoning

I've bought other headsets and they were simply too heavy. This one is an excellent balance between light weight and substantive performance. Would have preferred leather ear muffs to the synthetic foam which tends to fall apart after long use.

Fabulous.

(5 out of 5) by Jonathan P. Wills on Dec 13, 2004

I bought the PC 135 Sennheiser headset about four months ago. Its a PC 130 with a usb based sound card which i'm not using at the moment. Overall not worth paying 40 dollars more for the USB sound card except that its a neat toy.

But the headset part is the PC 130 which is a very good headset indeed. The sound of it is superior to my logitech z 5300's. It manages impressive directional sound. I can hear what direction armies are marching in warcraft before I can see them at night for example.

The mic is durable and quite good. I talk to my girl friend routinely over the net using it. Fabulous headset for sure.

Excellent headphones

I recently acquired these Sennheisers since my previous cheapo $5 generic ones came apart around the ears. I guess these are the 'low end' of the Sennheiser line, but cheap does not mean a sacrifice in quality!

Mine worked right out of the box, and are very nice. They feel very solidly constructed, and the touch of silver on the earphones looks sophisticated. The mike boom can be rotated towards the mouth when in use, or afixed to the side of the headphones (great idea!) when not in use, thus out of the way of the user. The big plus about this set of earphones is that the cord is 3 meters long; definitely something I was looking for in my purchase.

Quality wise; I'm not a diehard audiophile, but I really like these babies. They seem to reproduce sound and bass well, and the noise cancellation works great. I haven't used my Klipsch speakers in several weeks now, since I'm entirely using my Sennheisers.

For $30, you can't go wrong. The PC130 is a superb headset.
