Turn the other way and run!!!

(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Dec 23, 2003
I have dealt with a lot of poor products in my lifetime, and poor customer service but Lexmark's X125 is the worst. I purchased it off of Dell's website with my new computer and have never been able to get it to work (even with customer support on the phone) They have sent me 2 new printers (Along with the new one 1 bought) and each one has a different fatal problem. Lexmark makes it nearly impossible to get in touch with customer support and when they do finally diagnose your problem (If you can understand your customer support person) as a faulty printer they send you a RE-FURBISHED printer (1 printer had crumbs in the display)
Pathetic!
Read the other reviews for the Lexmark X125, this is a lousy product!

Why isn't 0 stars an option? This product is THAT BAD!

(1 out of 5) by me on Jan 3, 2004 (Minnesota, USA)
Do not even think of buying this product. It is just no good. The driver supplied with it does not work very well with windows 2000. The driver software crashes at least once a day, and if you want to print again, you need to reboot your computer. The copier/scanner mechanism does not feed narrow items/small items very well. If you ever hope to scan something other than 8x11 plain paper, you're in for a surprise. This thing is junk, and the Lexmark support team is of no help whatsoever. The "driver" software problem noted above was mentioned to them, and they claim it is not a "known issue" nor will they assign it "known issue" status - yet many other folks are having the same problem. Just search the web for "lexmark red diamond red x" as the symptom is that the driver's "red diamond" symbol turns into a "red x" when the driver software has crashed. Goodbye Lexmark, hello HP.

You're asking for trouble if you buy this POS; Look at eBay!

(1 out of 5) by SOHO Denver on May 1, 2005 (Denver, CO USA)
I bought my X125 on the clearance table at CompUSA about two years ago. I should have known better. It was brand new and I got it at a great price -- but when will I ever learn that YOU REALLY DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. The driver software quits unexpectedly, forcing me to reboot if I want to print anything. I've written to Lexmark twice about this problem, once online and once via snail mail. I received the same BS answer from them both times. It was obvious they were giving me a boilerplate answer because the text of both replies was identical. They answered as if I was running Windows XP. The trouble is, I had clearly stated I was running Windows 2000, so their so-called "answer" was totally useless.

If you really want to know what people think of this unit, search the COMPLETED LISTINGS for "Lexmark X125" on eBay. Most of the time the item doesn't sell at all. When it does sell, it sells for less than TEN CENTS.

Since donating mine to Goodwill wouldn't be worth the gas money to drive it there, mine's going in the trash and I'll sell my leftover cartridges to the local ink refill store for a buck apiece. Stay away from this thing!

Lexmark X125

(1 out of 5) by John A. Green on Oct 20, 2004 (Austin Texas (Live Music Capital of the World))

This is now the top of my list of worthless crap. I've gone through 3 BRAND new x125's thinking that when they went to expense of sending me a NEW one, it would actually run.

Even LExmark can't make this junk work.

RUN FROM THIS JUNK!!!!

The letter I sent to Lexmark:
Umm, this is a device that was just unboxed (actually the third, the
> first one I took back, the second one did the same and third one you guys
> sent me as a replacement but really I think it's a joke, right?????)and

Do not buy

(1 out of 5) by L. Herring on Oct 20, 2004
This printer is horrible. I have had this printer for about a year now and it CRASHES everyday!!!! I have to restart my computer to get something to print and it is a big hassle. Will not work properly with XP, even if i restart my computer and print an hour later, sometimes I have to unpug then replug the USB cord to get something to print. I am a college student so i bought this for the affordable price ..i guess you get what you pay for. WIsh I would have invested in a better product.
